SELL US YOUR USED BOOKS!


HOW WE BUY

Friday, Sunday, and Monday from 12-5 customers may bring in up to 50 books for a member of staff to review for purchase. Customers can browse and hang out while their books are being reviewed.

$1 Cash or $2 store credit will be given for each book we purchase. Purchases are at the sole discretion of the buyer.

While we generally stick to the regular schedule, buying days may be cancelled due to store functions, specific events, or other reasons — please call the store first or check our Instagram to see if there’s been any changes!

WHAT WE DON’T BUY

  • Books with water/insect/mold damage, food stains, underlining and other marginalia, or books with broken spines or damaged covers

  • textbooks or test prep books

  • Book of the Month hardcovers

  • advanced reader copies, uncorrected proofs or galleys

  • old biographies, out of date science books, or anything racist or bigoted!

  • While we accept books of all genres, our stock levels do dictate what subjects we may or may not be buying in a given week.

 

FAQs:

Do you take donations? We do not take books as donations - any books we do not buy need to be taken from the store.

What should I do with my books if you don’t want them? Little free libraries are a good place to start. Regular libraries usually take donations year round.

What if I have more than 50 books? Email perry@lostcitybookstore.com to set up an appointment outside of regular buying hours.

What if my book is of higher value, rare, or collectible? Email perry@lostcitybookstore.com and we’ll take a look.
