Join us in celebrating Jodi Rosenfeld's debut novel, Closer to Fine!
About Closer to Fine:
Closer to Fine is the story of Rachel Levine, a young, Jewish, bisexual woman finding her adult footing in a world full of uncertainties. Rachel has many teachers along the way―a stubborn grandfather, a progressive rabbi, a worldly girlfriend, a wise supervisor, and an insightful therapist―but in the end, it is her own anxiety that is the best teacher of all. As Rachel learns that accepting that which she cannot control is the mark of true growth, she becomes ever more connected to the people who matter most in her life.
Jodi Rosenfeld is a rabbinical student and clinical psychologist with a small private practice in Phoenixville, Pa. Jodi holds a degree in English and Women’s Studies from Tufts University and a doctorate from the Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology.
Tamar Gasko is a queer Jewish Marylander and 6th grade teacher at the Charles E. Smith Jewish Day School. She is part of the Capital Qvellers, a group of queer and Jewish folks in the DMV who have picnics, Shabbat dinners, and Pride brunches together-- come join them on Instagram @capitalqvellers or on Facebook! Tamar loves dancing, is an occasional storyteller with Story District, and is an enthusiastic solo traveler (when the world opens up again, Croatia is at the top of her list). She's working towards going back to school for Speech and Language Pathology, so if you're an SLP, reach out to her!
Closer to Fine will be available at Lost City Books in June!
